So I’m going into this year with my big giant goals to crush, my word of the year, which is intentional, and now I want to look at 2020 and have some fun! 20 things I want to do, see, experience, etc. in 2020. These can be big, small, whatever you want them to be but I’m hoping after this episode you sit down and think of your 20 also. This would also be an awesome activity to do as a family. What are 20 things we want to do/see/experience/try together this year?

New Year, New Experiences to Have!
I’ve seen this idea of 20 things for 2020 floating around on different blogs and with some Instagram accounts I follow and I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and do my own! You know that I am a crazy nut when it comes to setting goals and if you want to check out how I set goals for the year and how I involve my family in that, head on over to Episode 19: Starting the Year Off Strong!
Ryan and I already had our big new year kick off day date where we sit down and plan/set goals for the year so I’ve got my big guys planned out, including some big dreams for the podcast that I’m going to need your help on reaching! More on that in a bit!

How to keep track? I’ve made these ideas into a checklist! Super simple, just did it on Google docs with the check box bullets, nothing fancy! But they are typed out, printed out and now I can see them and refer back to them throughout the year, checking off as I go. Think of it as a 2020 bucket list! Again, the visual would be great for kids if you want to do this together!
So without further adieu…here’s my list!

20 Things I Want to Do in 2020!
- Peloton 3 times a week, yoga twice.
I have a knock off Peloton and I’m shocked to say I love it. Here’s the one I have, it’s on Amazon! Then I use the Peloton app, which is a membership fee of around $30 a month. Totally worth it because theres also running, strength training, yoga, stretching, etc. in addition to the cycling and fun music on that app and all the classes are really great!
Listen to Sarah talk about starting the year off in the healthiest and most realistic way on Episode 66: Simply Taking Real Care of Your Health This Year here!
2.Get in the routine of having smoothies for breakfast- make it a habit
I love Body Love and Body Love Everyday by Kelly LeVeque and her Fab 4 plans. It’s all about eating the Fab 4 (fiber, fat, protein, and greens) at every meal. Her meal planning agrees with my body really well and she is all about these Fab 4 smoothies so I really want to get in the routine of
3. Have two date nights OUT with Ryan a month and have them scheduled and on the calendar
4. At least one girls night a month
5. Eat lunch- have lunches prepped and make this a habit- no excuses
6. Read every morning while I drink my coffee
7. Plan a staycation for our family
8. Make one on one time with the kids a priority- once a week, time designated to just them
9. No phones after Ryan gets home from work- just family time
10. Go to a concert

12. Try a new recipe every week
13. Friday Adventures
I saw this on an Instagram account I love to follow, Everyday Reading, and loved the concept because you can make it whatever you want it to be. The goal is to pick up the kids from school on Friday and go on an adventure- fun snack, park, beach, friend play date, game night or supplies for surprise movie night waiting for them at home, etc. whatever you want. I love the message it gives for kicking off the weekend with fun quality time!
14. DIY bathroom remodel
15. Make my new office functional and efficient
16. Turn my cheese drawer into a snack drawer
Ashley with Veggies and Virtue turns her cheese drawer in the fridge into a snack drawer for the kids and I’m jealous of it every single time I see hers! This is my year to make one of my own. All healthy, mom/kid approved snacks for the kids to access independently!
Listen to Ashley talks about meal time battles and picky eating on Episode 60: Finally! Less Meal Time Stress
17. Being a little more outdoorsy- going on an easy hike/riding bikes on a trail
18. 10 year anniversary trip with Ryan!
If you have recommendations for where we should go, leave them below in the comments please! I’d LOVE to hear your recs! We are really open for whatever and love travel and visiting new places!
19. Read or listen to one business book a month
20. Speak at an event!

I’ve also seen some people make lists of things they’d like to do 20 of in this year, so for example 20 recipes I’d like to try in 2020, 20 dates for 2020, 20 new songs to listen to, 20 new books I want to read, 20 new parks to try, etc. Make this what you want it to be but take a step in the planning! A year full of experiences, adventure and memories is guaranteed to come out of it! Nothing to lose, sister!

For anniversary trip ideas, I’d say go big for 10 years and get out of the country! And no, Canada doesn’t count (technically it does but I mean farther). Croatia is an awesome spot to sit, relax but also explore and go on adventures. We LOVE Scotland and New Zealand and would go back there every year if we could. Congrats on 10 years!
haha! We talked about going out of the country and LOVE these ideas so much, but don’t know that we can swing it this year! My sister is getting married and I have some work travel so we made the plan for Europe for 15…and do it life of luxury style! 😉 I will for SURE be reaching out about it though, world traveler!
